Lightest may be the duramax. Diesels run such a high compression ratio and the power stroke injection system is limited by the hydraulic injection system.

I think a Duramax would be an excellent buggy engine, They are about 900lb fully dressed from what I read, so not much more than a iron head Big Block...

I'd love to have the LBZ from my tow rig in a buggy. 500hp and 1000+ lbft at the crank with some computer tuning and bolt on mods... Hell a stock motor at 360hp and 650lbft would be more than sufficient for off road duty :****:

Duramax should weigh bout 1100 and 6.0 weigh bout 1300 either way should be good show I'd be all about it but like you all I've been told is how dumb the idea is but you go first lol then I'll build one !
