Yeah in the 6yrs i have been wrenching on my own rigs, I have never lost a lug nut, and like Briejer said . . . Impact gun, high setting, boom done over no worries:awesomework:
Torquing a 1/2 inch lug to 200+ foot pounds of torque is idiotic. I know my impact gun will hit nearly 300. Yeah, it won't loosen. But it'll sure be prone to snapping. Now, if you're impacting your Mog wheels, they use a much larger stud, as do most 8 lug axles (mine are 5/8ths), and maybe that's OK.
Maybe.
Its okay, if you like to snap wheel studs, they may not do it the first or second time but everytime you over torque the nuts you are making the studs a little weaker as well as damaging the threads on both.
