sami-spring ideas??

yea i guess that works and yea i got a welder and know how to use it.. thanks for the help kev you obviously know your zuks..gotta get some cash together and go to town

If you have a decent welder and welding skills, you can fab up 2 plates (1/4" flat plate) that wrap around the axle next to the existing perch (one on each side); weld them to the existing perch, and grind the top flat where the welds are ( to make the perch flat on top again....); walla, 2.5" perch!

thats what i did in the front but in the rear i just ignored the fact that my perches have gaps between the u bolts. works just fine :redneck: two years going strong.

on a side note plan on running some kind of traction/ anti wrap bar if you run yjs in the rear they twist up like pretzels

X-elenty billion....DEFINITELY plan on an anti wrap bar of some sort...BodyDamage on here wiped her first set of rear YJ's out in just a few trips...she's now got a nice traction bar under it and has had 0 issues since....
And for the record, I also have a traction bar in the back with my setup (stock rears with a main leaf added)...0 issues with wiping out springs....

Front's not much of an issue, just the rear....but if you can add an antiwrap bar without sacrificing articulation up front, go for it!

yea definately gonna do one in the rear with the four link. i guess i will figure it out once i start cutting:redneck:

If your linking it out back, no need for an antiwrap bar....

it shouldn't be your right and now that i think about it im gonna have limited room anyway. it will be interesting to link something so narrow i have done sami's with yota axles and yotas and some bigger stuff. im gonna start on a truss tomorrow..:cheer:

If you are goin to link the rear then do a thread on the build:corn:

definately will do when i start getting everything together. which i already have link bars and joints for them. Its a matter of cross-members and springs next. Its only money:D

You going to keep it short and in the rear wheel wells or....?

the original plan was to use my sami axles, but now I think I can get my hands on some toyota's. so we'll see just kinda trying to figure out exactly what im gonna do. Brainstorm :beer:

Well after I had a good look at my axles today I would say yotas all the way. My front may get through the summer but I bet not. ALL the lugs on the front are shot as well as the rotors. The rims are hogged out from loose lugnuts at some point and toast. On the good side the ole lady goes back to work at the end of the month and I will be able to use my over time for parts and not for bills and fuel:cheer::awesomework:
