So I am in the process of gathering parts for rig to snow wheel in. I really want to do a 203/205 combo to allow for a few different gear choices. My question is I have a 203 that was behind a th-350 and i want to mate that to my 205. The 205 is currently in a 1984 1ton chevy behind an sm465. Do i have to convert this to 32 spline to mate it my 203? Also is there a stock adapter from the sm465 to 203?

Thanks a ton
Graeme

you will need to convert it to 32 spline as well as bore the input bearing hole in the front of the 205 case to the size of a turbo 400 input bearing.... all the kits that I am aware of provide a output shaft for the 203 that require the 32spline input on the 205 and yes there is a 465 to 203 adaptor there are somwhat hard to find but out there

Gramma talk to chevy butcher on tc. He has a 400/203 in running shape for sale. He also has a couple 465/203's as well. :D

I have a 465 mated to a 203. Its very rare and I think GM only did this for one/two years.:awesomework:

I believe it was 1974 only...

I wish I knew this about 7 years ago as I threw about 6-8 of them away... :booo:

I blew up a **** load of 4spd/203 cases in my old K5
