Similar to a selectible locker?

how much of a diff' can you even tell witha locked front v/s an open front?

i have a friend that keeps telling me all he does is use a little more throttle and he's fine.. but i from exp. know that there is a couple times where i wouldn't have gotten stuck if my nose was pulling and not slipping on one side.

ya ya they do but might as well break the ifs before u replace it thats what im thinking normal shtt break it fix it betta so have fun with the cheapass welds breakem and goo betta hell ya ill do that sooner or later dependin on my front diff:beer::beer: weld it all then break it thats my idea

weld it front and back then break it.......itll take sum abuse ive been abusing mine for a while ........overall break then upgrade it:beer:
 
so ill have a completely stock 87 4runner here soon, i have a complete solid axle swap for it. do you think i can sell the IFS setup for any $? if not i might just pop it appart and weld it up real quick just for the hell of it to see what its like so i can say i know what its like lol :haha:

I have a lockrite in the front of my truck and i can completely feel the difference, on a sharp corner i kick my truck into 2wd so that the front will ratchet. Now as for on road manners in 4wd it handles as though the driver had consumed an entire bottle of 151 in an hour and then tried to drive home :haha:
 
welding up front end and leaving one hub unlocked till needed would that be similar to a selectable locker just cheaper let me know

This is not a good idea and I'm surprised no one has even mentioned this, but if you are welded and you unlock one hub all of your power for the front axle is going through one axle, which is extremely stressful on that half of your drive axle, and like was said earlier, the other tire is like dragging a dead leg, but you say I'll engage the other hub before it gets to tough, but you'll turn a corner and hit a little obstacle that you think is not so bad but you load the **** out of that one tire then bang, something just broke.
so if you can't afford the locker and have to weld it you will probably break something down the road, then you will have to replace **** but at least it will get you out there, but if you just unlock one hub your asking for trouble.

ya u could try to sell it but how much is any1 gonna pay for it may just be worth welding up and runnin it all depends 87 ifs is worth what 100bucks max call a junk yard weld it and break it:beer::beer::beer:

ya, thats kinda what i was thinking. if someone was willing to give me $50-60 for it ill sell it otherwise ill just weld it and play lol..

eitherway it doesnt matter since i have hydro assist/hi-steer/complete rebuilt front solid axle/shock hoops on the way/shocks/square stock driveshaft on the way/ waggy leafs front and some lift leafs for the rear not sure what they are exactly?dual cases (just need adaptor) and twin stix on the way.

If you have a welded front IFS diff and yopur bragging about not breaking anything yet, then you need to step it up.

I can destroy an ifs front in my yard. You apperantly dont drive like I do or have some little tires. You will get tired of replacing axles and the stub shaft on the short side of the diff.:corn:

ya small tires i know it will break so im kinda easy on it just no jumpin is kinda easy
