Snap rings?

South Olympia. It would be cheaper to go buy the tool at Harbor Freight than to buy gas to drive down there and back. Or just come borrow mine.

Give me a call - 425.232.8331

Eric

Dang i went to a friends house tonight, i'll call up harbor freight tommorow and see if they have one in stock

im not reading through all that. but if its for removing ujoints, just torch the bastards and watch for exploding grease

holy cow, you're doing something wrong, I have used my 2 pound for every u joint I have ever done(thousand's).

are these glued in from the factory?

is there like a little hole with plastic stuff in it?

i had a DS from my old suburban that i decided after 200K original miles to change the DS u joints. i could not beat them out, i hit it so hard i thought i was gonna break the DS, tried heat with a propane torch (didnt ave a real torch then), i finally gave up and took it to a Driveline shop and guess what they used to get it out. a BIG FAWKIN HAMMER. found out there is a little ring groove inside the DS end and a matching groove in the u joint and they hot glue them in from the factory.:awesomework:

they did have this neat little clamping/holding device so they could hit it with both hands but its just a matter of how hard and accurate you can hit it.

I dont think they are glued in but it is a possibilty, im going to try that tool from harbor freight today before i ahve to go to work and we will see what happens

Alright well they were rusted on but i got them off.

Now i cant get the U-Joint out grrrr, i even went over to my neighbors house and he tried to help but no matter what we did we couldnt get it to move even a tiny bit. So i think i might ask spencer who works at terrace automotive if i can borrow a press for like 5 mins to press the old ones out and the new ones in cause theres no way im getting the old ones out at my house thtas for sure

I really don't reccommend a press on u-joints! Lets just say I had a bad experience with that senario. Just beat 'em I use an air hammer alot to do it, but on the really tough ones nothing beats an 8 lbs. sledge swung with authority!

BFH :awesomework: and some elbow grease!

Next time bring some ice mocha's :;

190? That's big, gawd I was 190 in 9th grade... :haha:

Did Boxboy get them out for ya?

I am only 185 when wet just out of a shower:haha:

All joints have been replaced, old out new in  I think I need a nap now, that was a lot of work :fawkdancesmiley: while someone goes to work :fawkdancesmiley:
