• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

soild axle question?

just get a toyota axle. If you are having a hard time with getting 300 for a toyota axle you will not like the aftermarket options fpr the D44s.

are you going to wheel or just try to pimp ladies at the mall?

trust me buy a yota axle!!!!

Just a few things i found when changing 2 a 44 on my buddies rig. . . Steering isssues needed 2 be worked out and solved, needed different yoke for the driveline depending on what axle you got you would have 2 either change the spring perch width on the axle or buy a fullwidth kit.

just those 3 things your talking easily 3-800 bucks!!!

Just save your money and buy a prebuilt yota axle!! Unless you went to a 60 your not gaining much of anything

Ford is drivers side drop so negative there big chief!! chevy yes

Older wagoneer would be better than a chev. closer to the same width of a toyota and most have flat top knuckels. But i would just put a toyota axle in it and be done.

the only bonus to using a waggy is to keep it narrow. I would take a wider chevy axle over a waggy any day. The chevy already has a perch, big plus. Plus the waggy has a horrible pinion angle too.

The knuckles are hit and miss. if the waggy has flat tops, both sides will need to be drilled, not just one.

All option suck compared to a toy axle.

My honest opinion is he dont even need a SAS, just a couple lockers and some trail time.

If you are having a hard time affording the 300.00 for an axle why not just leave it alone?

250-300 for an axle
200 for highsteer
0-200 for install
50-200 for new leafs
50-200 for shocks

Going solid axle isn't cheep.

But you can wheel the fawk out of IFS. Left stock height, and with 31" tires you can do just about most wheeling in the NW.

Cut the rubber bump stops till they are only 1/4 inch thick.
Take out the sway bar.
Leave the ride height alone !!!! or you lose any flex you might have.
Put a shackle lift in the rear.
Put a spool in the rear.

Have fun, and spend the savings on beer and ribbed for her pleasure condoms

FYI the last 3 totally stock toyota solid axles I purchased were 250.00 Each. They are out there, you just have to find the ones that arn't gold plated :;
