X2, but a yugo with a polished aluminum snorkel. :cool:

Dont forget the Gigglepin 8274s with all the extras front and rear for extraction duty.

Seriously though, my vote would be a basic Toyota wheeler, small lift, lockers, and t-case gears or doubler. Put some 35 or 36s on it and learn how to wheel. That would be a good platform you could build on. :D

is your rig a v6? if so i would consider selling it and buying a toyota with a 4cyl for starters you can buy early 80's rigs all day with some sort of a lift and tires for around 1000-1500

I'm guessing that you're on a pretty tight budget. If so just put a locker in your runner and play around on some easy stuff until you get out of school. If not then a semi-built Toy will be perfect for ya.:;
