• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

Stickies!

Yeah Wyatt we need to a swap sometime and see. My original statement is go with the tire you can afford and get easiest, and the Maxxis take themselves out of the equation a lot because of that. Maxxis acts like they are made of gold, and the competitors mark them up a ton. I think there are more BFG's in circulation, so they seem easier to find for decent money. I have never seen a Krawler or Crawler tear up first hand, whether it is sidewall or other failure, so I would run either.

My old IROK's (P's now) pulled sick lines when they got hot. The Maxxis pull sick lines with higher PSI and without heating up, and when they get hot it is great. I think most that went to Harlan in January were impressed by my tires in the wet/muddy conditons. I know Adam and Lunch both commented on my rig making it a good ways up Pony Hill with water running off it, they were impressed it could do that.

As long as you are helping we can backhalf it tommorrow! I am ready, just tell me when to buy the material!

It seems like all the used krawlers I see have side lugs that are so rounded that I wouldn't want them. One nice thing about maxxis is that while they may cost a ton, you can get them off the website. With BFG you're stuck hoping a competitor has recently decided to sell.

If I didn't have a hookup and I was getting a full set I'd look at the Iroks pretty hard. They are available and they are less expensive than the maxxis. If everything cost the same amount I'd get a 40" maxxis.

I've heard they are at their best when the side lugs lookwornout and shitty  pepper.gif

They all seem to work best when the lugs get worn out and shitty looking. I know mine are looking worn out, but they are working great

I am shocked, I say I am shocked the opinion leader has not weighed in on this topic yet.

Yes, from what I have been told is when the Krawlers work best is when they get A LOT of wear on them. Watching Pat and David's rigs I kind of buy into that theory as well. Pat has a worn set and David has a new set. Hard to say exactly because we are talking about 2 totally different rigs.

If I did not have access to the BFG race program I would run IROK stickies.

I would like to have some 43'' TSL/SXs with sticky compound.

Therefore in your case Joel I would get the IROKs.

I imagine I can come by some Krawlers if that is what I decide on. I want to see how Lou's sticky Iroks do though. He and I have the same driving style.

Fat kids have a driving style? **** why didn't I get the memo?

I have 2 friends running sticky IROKs right now and the feedback has been very, very good. Both hd BFG reds prior and just tired of having to jup thru hoops to get the. Both say they pefer the IROKS in every way. One guy in OK and one is in Utah. Both wheel more than most by a stretch.

Unless the SX comes out in a sticky I will probably do a set of IROKs next. I am really unimpressed with Creepies for the most part.

Sticky Treps in a 40'' or bigger would be my #1 choice.

42 Sticky Trep... drool

Id actually drop money for my first set of brand new tires if they came out with that.

I've heard nothing but good things about the sticky iroks, but how much are they?
Somebody said $475 per tire on pirate this week. I read it on the internet so it must be true. :D

when they were announced I thought it was $420 or somewhere near that.. I don't know if they went up. Still right near a 44" TSL cost... :woody:
