sticky tars

I would think the 17 would be a much better seller. That seems to be the norm these days.

Only because that's the only size that stickys at currently made in...or at least the most popular versions. They were made that way because of the larger brakes on one tons and racing applications. Just guessing but there have to be a bajillion guys like myself that have stuck to the 15's because that what I have and they work. I have no reason to buy 17's unless I wanted stickies...and I don't want them bad enough to make the switch.

I would definitely buy as set of SX's if they made them in sticky compound 38*12.50*15.

With that said...am I the only one that thinks stickies combined with all the other cool parts we have to work with now seem to take the fun out of it? I mean the reason most of us got addicted to this hobby was the challenge...at some point you lose most of that aspect...and as a result lose the fun. Can't count how many times I've heard...damn I need stickies or i wouldve made it if I had stickies. Then a similar rig running DOT tires walks the same line a few minutes later.

That's just because people always make excuses for why they couldn't climb something.

Having better parts available doesn't take any of the fun out for me. I guess if someone has a "keeping up with the Jones's" mentality that may be true...?

My thoughts are, if you are buying new tires for an OFFROAD only rig, why NOT buy stickies?

Most other parts of a rig can be built/substituted/or upgraded as you find the limits and the limits are pretty well established and known for a lot of parts...(ie running stock 60 shafts, then upgrading to Yukons, then if you upgrade motor or tire size or driving style, getting 300M RCVs...)

But hell I've owned like 6 sets of stickies and only ran one set for 2 rides... Now I run ol IROKs that I have about $200 in 8 of em...
One of these days I'll get a set of 37 reds to put on the Gremlin, but there are more important things to do with that $1500 right now than a new set of tires that I'll use 10 times a year...

Looks like there is gonna be a boost in rcv 300m Toyota axles!

We also weren't trying the same **** years ago when not 8/10 rigs had stickies. The hills progress, so the parts have to keep up.

Stickies cost me my only riding buddy out this way .. Known him half my life.. We were wheeling all the time, my TSL's made his military tires look like, well, military tires I guess (tires suck) .. Got stickies, after 2 or 3 rides I was on my own. Ain't rode with him but once in the past 6 months.. I feel if I was to get non sticky tires again he may come ridin again...

Sure am gonna miss him. :woot:

Whatever the hell Interco makes in a sticky under 40". I don't care if its an Irok, TSL, SX, Thornturd, Bogger whatever. Please let it be true to size. Thats my biggest gripe with Interco. All 3 sets of 38" TSL's ive owned have measured 36" at best with air in them on a wheel. My 36 Iroks measured 33. And the 42 TSL's were around 40". I know it will hurt spending just as much on a set of tires as I have in my whole rig, but damn them cheater tarz work. Oh yeah...and make em for a 15" wheel too. I'm a :JRich: who doesn't want to buy another set of beadlocks.

95% of this perception is due to the structural differences in bias & radial tires at trail pressure :****:

The 38" SX seem to measure pretty dang tall. The 43's definitely measure tall.

The 42 Irok Sticky's measure small though.
