SX stickies

I bought a winch for a reason. I'm usually a "hit it 3 times" type then jus pull cable or go around. No biggie to me.

Honestly though. ..there is an off camber slab rock on trail 3 at Windrock that I haven't had issues with in this cold/wet weather.

I'm sure the stickies are better....but I've never looked back and gave it a second thought.

The standard SX has the same 6 sidewall plys that the sticky does, which is 2 more than the TSL / Bogger combo that I run now and keep puncturing / tearing. So either has got to be an upgrade for the hurting that I am putting on these things.

Yup...all kindsa roots n rocks in awful places at Windrock. I was too paranoid with my old tsls that had plugs in them already. I jus bump and bang everything with the SX'S and don't care one bit.

Also...the old tsls I had that were cut in back went wherever I needed them to...jus sidewalls been through hell.

Kind of on topic (didn't want to start thread just for this question). I have 2 new 39.5 iroks, but would like to buy 2 more tires. I'm wanting to buy a pair of 39" reds, but the sizes need to be close enough in height for that to happen. Yea, it would also be a little bit on the hoosier side. laughing1
Found this picture, no details other than the tire sizes, and it looks to be pretty damn even.

My 39" Reds are dead on 39" measuring side to side with around 8-10 psi in em.

I started out on 44 tsl "mullet combo" TSL's in the front Boggers in the back, then to IROKS, then to 43 sx stickies. The stickies are by far the best setup..... just my 2 cents.

If y got hey invincible drive train, run that big ole 43 sticky.. With an H1 wheel I think I saw they are around 220 lbs each. That's a lot of weight to throw around. That's why I decided not to get them because I have terrible luck, so I opted for some Treps. I can honestly say, now with some gearing, I'm very confident in my rig. It amazes me.. there's not a hill I don't think they would have a Prob with.. They just bite and pull Ya up.. Sounds like you are a little rougher on tires though, either that or have worst luck than me. Hahah. You're doing pretty good to rip a bunch of TSL's.. Sheesh. That would blow to rip a new sticky. Just shoot me if I do. I had actually put an ad wanting to trade for some 43's, The more I ride on the Treps , Im good keeping them. Lose a couple of inches of ground clearance maybe, not sure what the 43 actually weighs , just something to think about. I really think you will regret it if you do not get the stickies Tho! Pretty much in the same boat as me, you didn't to last for a really long time.. Like forever. Ha. No matter what choice u make is. I'm sure you will love Em. Daves Offroad will beat anyone's price. call the place that everyone else tell you to call and then call Dave. That's what I did. Now get on it! the faster you get them, faster you will be much happier with your rig. :woot:

44 TSL - 128 lbs
43 SX - 132 lbs
44 Bogger = 144 lbs

So its between the two tires I have now.

JJ, the stickies round off the side lugs pretty fast and they chunk\pretty fast easy to if you ride much....after a few rides you won't want to take a look at your tires...this speaking of the 43sx. :****:

fwiw, very happy with my 42" SXIIs. seem to work well in most conditions and very tough. would love a set of SX stickies, but can't justify the cost.

pretty sure my h1s/SXII combo is 203# each corner

I really don't like how narrow the SX's are. But at this point I'm willing to do whatever it takes to stop cutting tires.

Fwiw my 42" sx2 on 12 bolt h1 with rubber runflat weighs 210 lbs. I love the compound. Ran some trails with a few who have iroks, mtr stickies, 39" reds, and regular tsls.

I haven't put a durometer on the tires, but the compound seems to be similar to an irok which is much softer that the tsls. On mason jar, the three rigs somewhat similar, one buggy, two jeeps, buggy had mtr stickies. The two jeeps made several climbs easier. The bfgs definitely do better crawling, but it took both of us a bump and some wheel speed to make it up. Not much difference. Both jeeps were identical setups and similar to the buggy. The mtr stickies just didn't appear to do that well.

I have cut one sx2 on a broken off fence post in a grass field. Had it vulcanized. Never have cut one on the trails. Been running them since 08 with 4-6 psi depending on weather.
Anything I can't crawl, I just warm them up and try to crawl again. If that doesn't get it, time to bump it.

What psi are u running in your tsls/boggers?

With all that said, I would love to try BFg krt-b's on some alum wheels just to try a sticky compound and shave some weight. No complaints with current setup, just curious.

Been running 43 sticks for almost 4 years, at least 30 rides, I've been harder on these than any other tire I've ran, (all interco), they are fantastic in all conditions. Currently (uncut ) have 85% in the centers , and 75%on the outermost corners, but truthfully the more the corners wear the better they have gripped. Don't let the wear scare you. Have cut zero tires, broken zero axles, and took 3.5 years to WEAR OUT a rear 1350 upper ds joint....truthfully that's due limit of joint travel versus droop.
I run 6-7 lbs on 17" racelines-never lost a bead, 475hp ls2, 5.13 gears, and chromos/ctm in front lp Dana 60. Btw they weigh 180lbs mounted at current wear.

You won't be sorry

notable mention - i bought 5, so when it comes time for more only need 3....

I've tried all psi's in my 44's to try and keep from cutting them. Started out around 5, went up to 8, then 10-12, last weekend I was at 25 and still killed a bogger.
