T-cases getting hot driving on highway.

Not abnormal to have slop in the output--see it alot.... Should see the play in a slip yoke aplication...

hmm, ok, ya, it just seems like a lot and i've gone through the whole thing, checked the internal bearings, etc. i think some of the vibration is the rear axle needing to be shimmed now, but that i dont think would be why the t-cases are getting so hot. maybe i'm just over exagerating, but they were hot to the touch, you couldn't hold your hand on them....

do they use a cylindrical bearing or a roller ball ?

both, loose needle bearings inside, and roller ball caged bearings at the outputs.

If they were tapered then your assumption would be right--and everything pre-loaded.
