Reason the trail was closed!

umm call me stupid but why is the wall trail closed now. what happened for it to need to be closed?

because it is state park land adjoining DNR land. the state land is designated as a "official climbing area". people have been throwing stuff off the lookout and climbers have been hit with things like beer bottles and vehicle bumpers...

the DNR land is not "officially designated as ORV use" so if push came to shove the state could force DNR to shut the entire area down. we the ORV community do not want the attention that would be created if the two agencies had to go to battle the state parks would wiin hands down.

so as said earlier on in this thread we the users (mostly mike) stepped in and worked with the agencies involved and worked out a solution we could all live with at an RTW meeting.

again it is sad to lose some of the funnest part of that trail but better than the only other option which would be the entire trail and maybe even the entire area.

just note that only the last 200 yards or so of the trail has been closed and that this section of the trail has been 'closed' for the past year.

Who says I dont have access to tanks, Im in the Army :flipoff:

Actually, I really want an old 3/4 ton or so full size Chevy to build up a beastly engine in, lift way too tall, with too big of tires, and make a mud bogger out of it :clappy:

That is what I was trying to accomplish working with the state parks and I have to thank shawn at the state parks for taking alot of time listening/talking with me over this whole thing.

Now we just gotta get the word out that #1 its closed and #2 WHY its closed....
