There is a good faith understanding that upper Ravens Roost or the "POWER LINES" trail is un-officially closed though...
The Forest Service has been working on trying to get the official paper work done to close the trail for the past two seasons of wheeling. I agree with the closure 100%. The danger level is just too high...
What is prompting the closure...and what people don't realize is that there are very, very HIGH VOLTAGE bundles under the trail...hence the name "POWER LINE" trail...In numorous parts of the trail the holes and bogs have exposed the bundles...
It would be appreciated if once you learn of the "un-official" closure that you do what you can to stay of the trail...and spread the word. It will help our cause more than anything if we respect the Forest Service's wish.
