Things To Carry In Trail Bag

Valve core tool and valve cores used to be in my bag. I require a small blanket to go over the metal rope on the winch for safety. Don't know if anyone said spare belt. Our group lost two this weekend. Black rtv is handy at times. I would like to add a 1/4 inch drive impact for speed. Usually I break in water or while it is raining.

After seeing the air compressor used two times this weekend, I am moving my compressor from the tow pig to the trail rig. I know it won't operate air tools, but airing up a down tire on the trail was extremely convenient.

Spare plug wires are now on my list. At Choccolocco last weekend, first time out after 4 link, my rear plug wire (longest one) was dangling and got caught in the steering assembly and ripped into. Luckily Chad had one we was able to make work for the day.

Also - Ratchet straps!!! I carry 2 or 3 with me now. They have saved the day a couple times already. Had a buddy sheer all the bolts off holding his high steer arm to his knuckle at Area 51 and we were able to ratchet strap **** back together to where he could steer just enough to get out of the woods. Also used them to hold my leaf spring together when I broke it last November.

I've actually been looking into buying one of those soft tool bags, I don't have a whole lot of stuff in my rig as of now, just the basics. But I usually have what I need back at the tow rig if I don't have it with me.

Fuses, cheapo emergency kit that includes sockets / thumb wrench / flashlight / razor knife / tape / etc., then a couple pairs of various size vice grips, big folding deer gutting knife for survival situations lolz, tow rope, cheapo first aid kit, full size bath towel, bunch of toilet paper, papertowels, last but not least, cooler full of beer and water! :drinkers:

whats the water for!? :drinkers:

Add spark plugs and old plug wires, never know when that rollover will foul a plug or wire that falls down on your exhaust

This aint no ****. A V8 can run on 7 and you'd hardly notice. But try and limp a 22RE or 1.6 zuk out on 3 and you may sign the title, slap it on the dash and leave it on the trail out of aggrivation!

Something about GAP in Auburn.... I forgot (drunk) and left MY steering wheel on the dash after loading it up at GAP.... the next day on teh way home, Chad called me and said he seen it rolling down the interstate when we were in Gadsden (he was following me) :****: So it made it for 2 hours on the dash before falling off molaugh

I have a large .50 ammo box for my ****, but add straps, fluids, winch ****, and a couple of those fancy TG tire plug kits and looks like it'll be a bag behind the seat before too long.

No zip ties???!! I have a small crescent wrench on my key ring that's always with me everywhere I go an I use it about 3 times a week or more.

If you guys have a Harbor Freight near you, they have some pretty decent, heavy duty soft tool bags. I got one about a month ago for $12.99. Too soon to tell if it will hold up long term, but the material appears to be really heavy duty. It also has pockets on the inside and outside for small items like electrical stuff or bolts.

Spare steering wheel :****:

embarrassingly enough this was me…. I was going for a day ride a a park about an hour from the house last april… dunno what happened but I when I went to unload the rig at the park, no steering wheel… was so pissed at myself I just went home… now i have a spare in the trailer box with a disconnect hub on it…. face palm…

I've been looking for a good solution to toolbags for a long time.. couple of goodies i've figured out…

you can find tool bags that come with ammo cans- these are great for tools under 11 inches or so long, screwdrivers, pliers ect.. they have a side pocket thats great for a small spare parts.

Lowes has a two pack of small tool bags for like 20 bucks, a long one and short one- I use these for wrenches, the biggest one will hold long wrenches like 1.125 and bigger, depending on where you keep them they last pretty well and doesn't hurt too bad to replace them here and there..
