This is John's site and I did not get the impression that this decision was open for debate. If you don't like it create a better site.

And if you're a tinfoil hat person you're probably better off not posting about your guns on the internet anyway.

1st I'd like to say I love Hardline, it's my favorite site, I check it AT LEAST 15 times a day. I love the fact that it's a site built mostly of tough-no bullsh*t guys and gals. Not my site. I am just the Admin. The site belongs to the Hardline Crawlers Club. With that said, we already had the "debate" in the member's only forum. Once it settles down, I'm sure it will be allowed again, just like pontoon boats, rat rods and the like. Right now, it was taking over the misc for sale section, which in not the primary focus of this group.

We just want this to be the best off roading site for events in the Southeast. We all just want to get together and ride.

I'm glad I'm not involved in this at all. Last time I got into a forum argument, Pokey started demanding respect, I got banned and then tnorvforum was created.. that was Hell.

As far as guns being sold on here goes. You are right, they shouldn't be sold. They should be given to me.

if I want to sell / look at / talk about / "or especially buy" damn guns this sure as hell wouldn,t be the forum I would choose,,,,,,and that "gettin just like pirate" part is horseshit :

It absolutely is the best site in the Southeast. Some of my best friends were made from HL....Great group of people here for the most part.

5onrocks, I really didn't think I was being a self entitled bitch asking a question about a site policy change...Opinions vary though I guess.

In my humble opinion, the guy trying to sell the AR for 2Gs is insulting the intelligence of everyone on here so maybe it's best to cut it off for a while until things settle down a little.

That's what I'm saying too. I agree. I'm not going anywhere, I love this place! The truth is that this site is growing at a record pace. A serious influx of newbies. I joined this site because it is the ONLY site in the south that is based around actually riding. I love that. But there are a lot of new members and it has changed the dynamic of the site a bit. That's all I was saying.

I don't agree about the Pirate comparision. Other than spammers, only once, have we banned someone from this site, and it was for a month. We don't tell you what you can and cannot talk about. I only remember one thread we closed for being real political, and that was because the dialog was not going anywhere.

We don't jump on people just because its Tuesday. Or they ask a stupid question. However, if you should be put in your place, rest assured, someone will do it.

We don't charge our vendors, allow banner advertising, or charge our forum members for a star. There are zero profits made from this site. The money it takes to run this site is solely paid by the members of the Hardline Club.

We allow nudity if marked so people at work do not get in trouble. However, we are not a porn site. So pictures showing dicks or penetration is not allowed. Just like guns, there are millions of sites for porn. If either is what you want to surf, go ahead. Come back here when you want to talk off roading.

Like Pirate, think again.

You are right JohnG and I appreciate the opportunity to be a member of this forum. I miss quoted myself originally with an incomplete thought. ALL I MEANT WAS: The way some people have reacted to some of the newer users of this site has been somewhat pirate like as of late. I'm not saying they, or I, or anyone else doesn't deserve it, I was just saying that Cherokee kid is the first person I've seen take such a powerful whooping on this site.

oh no, there have been worse, RockWalker & Peter, both come to mind. You dont have to have thickskin around here, but you cant be a dumbass either.

I know John and all of the Hardline members are about guns in the right time and place, Hardline just isnt the right place. Props to the club for drawing a line in the right place in the sand. which if it isnt clear is between 35% tittays and gun sales. :woot:

I think this about sums it up. I personally could care less about gun sales on here. The classifieds are the last thing I look at on here, I prefer to see what folks with more money than me, doesn't take much, are building and beating on. Someday I'll trade in my heep for a buggy but until then looking at others ride pics and build threads are what I come here for. Oh and the tittays.

My opinion: I don't care what sort of rules are overlooked / put in place on this site. If it gets to the point I don't like it, I will leave.....however I don't see that ever becoming an issue.

I think all that "it was cooler before the newbies" talk derives from forum veterans that have been here since the site started and think you hold some sort of place of high power or some **** (not pertaining to actual Hardline Club members). Get your head out of your ass, this an open, free forum for anybody and everybody to register on at any given time. There's a private HARDLINE forum for people that have a say so on this site, other than that, newbies are always gonna come and go. Some will stay longer than others, some will contribute, others will troll. It's the ****ing internet, so quit being a bunch of pussies about it :flipoff1:

Side note: I'm not offended at all by the no gun talk/sales or whatever, but I will state as soon as all this gun ban **** blows over, it will return to barely being mentioned at all in the forums. JUST LIKE POLITICS AROUND THE ELECTIONS. Around the presidential election, there were tons of lengthy threads started directly related to politics. Elections over, and they all started to diminish......same trend will happen with gun related things. Only difference is the political posting wasn't polluting classified section, only general discussion.

Summary: Carry on, I will continue to ride with all the friends I've made here on Hardline just as I have since I've been on this site, "newbie" or not. :dblthumb:
