Good lord!

3 BR, 2BA, I keep the two unused BR's closed off and vent's closed. Not that that helps a ton.

Getting wood tomorrow and stoaking my wood burner every night till it's above freezing. It's doesn't do much in the basement on the opposite side of the house the LR and my BR is, but anything helps right?

I have a small 3br 1 bath house... electric bill is around $30 a month.. Gas is $120 because I'm on that fixed budget plan where they average it out over the year based on previous year's useage. I've been building up the deposit thing and it is dropping a few bucks a month.. my washer/dryer are electric--- my stove is electric... gas water heater and boiler (radiant baseboard heaters) so I can't "block off" any of my rooms. Stays consistent temp.

i have an all electric house (no gas bills for me ) its with my shop
so the heat,light,welder,plasma and so on flat pay $170

Damn - you guys got it man and I would imagine your electricity comes from coal up there. Hell ours should be nearly free all it has to do is roll over the damn. :

The South gets price gouged to fawk... having lived elsewhere Im committed to this truth on power.... I HATE Alabama Power, there's a reason err one's getting rich over there and they sell appliances and have brand new vehicles with warn winch bumpers and **** they dont need... yada yada yada. We are getting bent over the barrell as consumers. And there is no option, your just plan ****ed. Seems to be a common thing in the South.. politic's and so forth. Yea in those regards, I miss the hell out of Kansas !! laughing1

ALL I GOTS TO SAY IS THANK GOD FOR OUR HUGE WOOD STOVE IN THE BASEMENT!

keep it going all the time.

takes all the heat up through the floor heats the house real nice.

just happy i live at home cause dad cringes

on utility bills on the 4500 sq foot house with a pool.

I'm with ya 100% on the ALABAMA POWER bull crap. We tried to have power ran at the park so we could have RV hook ups, Those guys quoted me $10,000.00 and said I would need to cut a thirty foot wide path through the area where the power would be ran. Hell I paid $250.00 just outside of Helen, GA to have power ran striaght up the side of a mountain for a cabin. The path maybe ten feet wide and the power company cut it.
