Ok any of you that know me will testify that i always drive my rig cautiously and never over rev it. So how in the hell did i manage to screw my motor to hell and back.? Well it seems i have. Took it to Brians shop Saturday and they pulled the motor out and took it to Brians dad,who is going to fix it for me. So far i'm out a new crank (383 stroker) , line bore the block, and the heads are not even off yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all the top end is still in good shape and no cylinder walls are damaged.
Will also be replacing all the rods with H beam rods which i thought it already had in it. Hell i wonder now why it didn't throw a rod along time ago.The best part about the whole deal is i know when it comes back it will be built to perfection as Brians father knows his **** when it comes to motors. Will be accepting donations daily from those who want to contribute to the cause. :'(Jimbo :'(

I hear ya Jimbo. I don't know if I believe that not over revving line. dunno

Nolen I don't care what you call it but dont Call it Bug Mashing, I hate that Term. Call it anything else. I personally like the Point-and-Pray method myself.

Yeah, I don't care for it either......

Really, what you guys are into is truly its own sport. We should come up with a name for it. It is like comparing a rock crawling event to rock racing.

dunno

That does really suck. At least you have a good motor guy.. Someone--maybe Brian was tellin me about his dad's motor work... Sounds like he REALLY knows his stuff.

Hey Nolen.... What's yer favorite flavor? Buy it at Sams or Costco? :flipoff1: :drinkers:

Funny!!

I am not hating on the point and pray wheeling, but I think it needs a new name since it is such a vastly different sport than rock crawling.

You can just hear the testosterone boiling in that 3rd video that John posted on Cable Hill....it made my speakers crackle molaugh

So maybe i stretched the truth just a little, watching those vids made me wonder how it stayed together as long as it did. Think i will lower the rev limiter down to around 6200 cause 7500 is a little much. Talked to Brian's dad last night and believe we're going back with everything new in the motor including heads. The ones on it now are fine but i'm going to try a different setup and see what happens.
As far as the sport, i get bored with crawling, did that as a child in my fathers 53 willys .Now it's balls to the wall with your heart racing knees shaking and hot boxing that cig right before you hit the pedal. Man i love this sport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pepper.gif...
Also the day i quit getting nervous before i hit the pedal is the day i quit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is why I am not into hunting as much anymore.........that rush you get when a big deer or a wad of mallards come in to your spot can be replicated 200 times in a weekend!

I was meaning to ask you.....what tranny do you run in your rig?

I'm running a 350 turbo with a Ultra Bell, one of the best choices i made in a while was the bellhousing. After breaking two transmissions in half Brian told me about the Ultra Bell which bolts to your pump (this is after you cut the stock bell housing off the front of your tranny)which works. It's rated up to 1200 hp and is 600 times stronger than the factory set up.Well worth the trouble when you consider the time and expense to build a new tranny and reinstall. pepper.gif
