I have a cage in my mustang. I bought the car with the cage. It has removable swing outs. The driver side swing out is missing. I need to aquire a piece of tube so my uncles shop can bend it for me. My question is, what do i need to measure on the existing tube, to buy the correct tube?

Just the ID and OD or?

Measure the OD (1.5", 1.75"). Then figure out what wall thickness you want. Most people use .120" but if you are going to race, see what the rule book says.

There are different types of tube too. HREW (good), DOM (better) and Chromoly (best)

i knew that much. I just had never had to purchase it, and was unaware of how it was measured.
