ya, is that the pic you emailed me? your home town
Yes, Sister just told me it was on the ground for 45 minutes and a mile wide.

Aunt/Uncles place is gone, cousins house is gone, several friends lost all their homes also. I have heard 6-8 fatalities and 2-250 homes destroyed. It's very spooky to see that live, can't imagine beign there when it hit. We were all 45 minutes north canoing when we got word of it all.

Pics are still uploading and I am going to put a small desc. on them before I post it. Off to get my dog, be back in a bit

Man, this year has been a rough one for tornadoes. They have not been isolated to one particular part of the country either. Hope everyone is okay Chris.

Family and all friends are fine, thanks. I don't think it has set in and likely won't until they are forced to stop rummaging through their stuff and let them bulldoze the foundations. :'(

Here are some, the rest are http://30bones.smugmug.com/gallery/5028738_xKAkm#301938321_VFYyc

Captions are under most of the pics, granted none of you have been there, but it's for my and other locals use. I will eventually put a note on the actual pics so I can print them and know what is what with the date.

Parking lot for the grocery store (was in the back of this lot) and my friend Matt's Bar (out of the pic to the right) Most canoers that did not drive to the spot...those are their cars. I bought steaks there Saturday night

Friend Rusty's house, maybe 3 years old, HUGE and nice. Prolly a 300K house?? Him and his wife was with us canoing, his inlaws were watching the kids there. They went to the basement in his poker room. Irony, he had a lucky horse shoe above that door. SPOOKY.

Chris I don't even know what to say. I know the feeling, where do you start?! Several family members lost everything in the 94 earthquake in Los Angeles--we moved as far east as we could get. Disasters like this suck major ass and my thoughts/prayers are with your family/friends and the rest of the town.

****ing tornados bring the suck.

GOT DANG.... thats unreal man, hope you guys get pulled together quickly. Glad to hear everone is OK.

damn damn damn......and we thought we had it bad when the 'nadoes rolled through here a few weeks ago.....

that is some MAJOR damage....

hope recovery efforts are going well.....

Those pictures are humbling. It can all be gone within minutes. I am sorry for your friends and families loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

Hey everything you can lose is crap. We all own a bunch of crap. Hell I think I would even be a bit liberated if all my crap were gone. Clean slate. As long as you still have you health, and your loved ones, its still all good.

Most interviews of disaster victims is somber about all they lost. But I saw one after that big Arkansas one. And the guy and his wife, we're so happy. Apparently they had lost everything 4-5 years before in another tornado. This time, they were just happy to have their lives. And the guy said something to the effect of, all that stuff we lost doesn't matter, we'll build again and go from there, but at least we still have each other.

I know its not even remotely that simple. But I'm just glad you all are ok, and your friends are ok.
