My buddy Rusty was laughing about it. "Ya know Bones....I think that wall had mold in it since my allergies are terrible in that room....problem solved" laughing1 He is just happy his family was not hurt in any way. I think most would feel the sameInDaShop said:Hey everything you can lose is crap. We all own a bunch of crap. Hell I think I would even be a bit liberated if all my crap were gone. Clean slate. As long as you still have you health, and your loved ones, its still all good.
Most interviews of disaster victims is somber about all they lost. But I saw one after that big Arkansas one. And the guy and his wife, we're so happy. Apparently they had lost everything 4-5 years before in another tornado. This time, they were just happy to have their lives. And the guy said something to the effect of, all that stuff we lost doesn't matter, we'll build again and go from there, but at least we still have each other.
I know its not even remotely that simple. But I'm just glad you all are ok, and your friends are ok.
Thanks buddy, give it lots of time and things will get better there I am certain. Very close knit town and once insurance and the feds help out some there will be a ton of rebuilding happening and I just hope it gets done well.Juan_Hong_Loe said:Just now getting to see this, been busy this weekend. I saw something on the news and immediately thought of Bones. Glad all your fam and friends are okay! Hope everything gets better!
I know, it's unreal to hear the peoples story and take on going through something like this. 175 mph winds and a Category 3 last I heard. :-\6uldv8 said:Holy crap! That is just unreal! Amazes me that there wasn't more injuries and fatalities......like someone mentioned earlier...even the basements weren't safe. Dayum!
We don't **** around up here. I was helping friends more than I was helping my aunt/uncle and cousin but they had a ton of help already. So I just pitched in where I could. Prolly be there the next few weekends as well. I have had offers locally to go with me, borrow trailers, helpers whatever. It's the real deal and people step up no matter who is in need in this situation.6uldv8 said:I think what impresses me the most about your pics and the aerial photos is that these people aren't messing around and waiting on help. Your photos weren't too long after the event and the folks up there were already making major headway in cleaning that place up and rebuilding their lives! I assume that there's alot of equipment around there due to the farming that came in handy for clearing debris but DAYUM! those folks are kicking ass! My hat is off to them!
