Toyota exhaust

I'd run a stock manifold over a pacesetter....

For the O2 sensor just take a EGR pipe and cut a flange off one end and weld it to the pipe. That flange is the same size and shape as the factory O2 so it'll work like a champ, I have that on my truck.

So I do need a cat because im going to register it in eatonville.. Do I still want to have it or no.. if not what do I with the hanging sensor thats left over?? I just picked up some pace setter headers because they were around and I need them now. I bought them before and now I got issues with them sitting against the trans/engine right where they adapt.. So should I header wrap them to keep the head off or just leave it?

I first header attempt was with Pacesetter. Had the same problom you described. Hammered them, squeezed them with mandible (actually an exhuast shop did) still didn't fit good. Pacesetter even sent me a new set, different listing gratis. Still no good fit and O2 code kept tripping. Ordered the Thorley awesome fit no issues, sold both Pacesetters to offset the cost. But if you decide to go with Thorley go through Summit DT's direct customer service sucks and its worth it to pay a little extra coin for Summits customer service. IMO

Lame. Well I bought them and installed them so its too late.. Unless I can take them back since they dont fit right.. I just dont want them resting on the engine/tranny. Might have to send them back to the factory but then I might jsut run them and figure it out..

Call Pacesetter, my expereince is they had great customer service, just a shitty product. Maybe something can be done. If not I sold both my Pacesetters Those guys on Ih8mud.com seem to love'em.

Nope I got ahold of baxters they said throw it back in the box and bring it back in.. Only problem is I used some 32$ gaskets not the cheesy ones pacemaker sent.. So Since I ran it for 5 minutes only that gaskets should still be good right?? I am just going to go with the stock manifold.. Should i go to toyota for that or autoparts store, are they all about the same?

Its only 100$ for a new one and its perfect. I buy a used one it could be cracked, warped, or needing resurfaced.. Will the doug thorleys make a huge diffrence over stock or should I stick to stock.. Its only my driver guys so any input by tonight would be great because I want to get it done tomorrow after work..

i personally think dual 6" stacks and no muffler is in order, for maximum horsepower:D

but seriously go with a hedder ..... better torque and hp and pick up a few mpgs plus it will sound better

You can take and run longer tubes off the manifold so that they join further down stream to make the most of a factory set up. I can't really say how much over stock the header provided as I did other mods and a new engine at same time. I like the DT but I just looked them up on Summit and damn the price has gone up. For that much I'd reconsider. I paid $212 plus shipping for mine

IS this thread still goin? I call half of whats being said in hurr "magazine" syndrome. "I saw it in a magazine.....said my **** would grow 4 MORE inches !!!"

If'n you believe that woah...... like I said before Toyota spent MILLIONS in R&D work. The ONLY reason you would need more flow from the exhaust is IF you change what goes in.... Like a turbo, larger throttle body, larger carborator, or head/valve work. Other than that most mods being done are either cuz somebody who wants to make money off your ass has convinced you that you will gain 15% more bla bla bla..... or the whole "small ****" syndrome which I will not get into here cuz ..... well It tends to make people not like me......

So on second thought.....carebears and rainbows. I want everyone to like me so yeah..... I say whatever you want to do to your truck is AWSOME, cool, groovy, and wow I think that K&N air filter is making 50 more horsepower than before..... WOOT !!! Don't forget stickers...... they ad 10% to the top end !!! I read in a magazine that this sticker :rb: is the best one on the market and they said after they put that sticker on, a stock 22RE dyno'd at over 1,000 horsepower.

Holy ****... That is one hard to read jumble of retardation. :eeek:

So you don't think that changing the exhaust will net ANY performance gains eh? If so you truly MUST be retarded....

Stock sucks... minor performance mods rule the day on a re... I'm running a 94 engine and stripped down harness, doug thorley header with mandrel bent 2 1/4" exhaust no cat and a flowmaster. The MAF is on the passenger side with a open element and i'm running a 261 crawler cam from engnbldr. It flat out boogies for what it is.... Less than 200 miles on a full rebuild and it is the most impressive N/A re I've ever witnessed. (not that it means much :haha: )
