Hi my name is Tom and I like to wheel. I am making a big move from Florida to Washington. I will be continuing my build here. I have been wheeling the southeast for a while and recently got into racing. Looking forward to seeing what the PNW has to offer and doing some wheeling.

Truck specs-

86 Toyota 4Runner with a 86 truck cab
35" BFG KM2s
SAS
Detroit locker f/r
Hydro assist
Marlin ultimate dual t-cases
22re on propane
internal cage

When it was still somewhat a 4Runner.

Time for Marlins Big Pin kit for those steering arms.

And stop buying those TG tie rod ends. They are worse quality than autozone/schucks crap.

Go to the dealer and buy OEM FJ80 tierod ends or go online and get Jap tripple 555 tierod ends.

Then you wont need spares anymore!

I haven't had any non driver induced issues with the TG tie rod ends. I bumped a rock going "fast" and broke the passenger TRE, steering arm pin and trunnion bearing. I am swapping in the trunnion bearing eliminator kit today. The Marlin 25mm pins won't fit in my arms, I have a set sitting on my bench right now that I can't use.

IM not a fan of the trunion elim kit. You can defend those garbage rod ends if you want but they are junk. Wait til one hurts you going fast.

The pin kits are 25MM hence they are larger than norm and dont fit in any arms. You have a decent machinist bore out the pin holes with a poper press fit and your done. And still have good KOYO bearings.

What kinda bearing was on that pin that broke?

I am currently running koyo bearings. TG hooks me up with a discount on parts so I tend to be pretty bias.

Pokey- thanks for the links.

Dont get me wrong, Im not a TG hater. I run lots of their stuff and lots of it works good.

But,,

Some of it is GARBAGE. Getting a deal on a poop sammich feels good, but it still tastes like poop in the end.

Marlin currently sells Yukon trunnion bearings.

I am a trail queer hater. **** their shitty parts and shitty business practices.

On another note we just had the tre discussion around the fire last weekend and yes, you are better off with parts store FJ80 tre's than with trail mart's cheap chinese junk.

I did a pin kit on Keatons buggy earlier this year and it came with KOYOs.

I didnt even know they made yukon brand bearings? If so , more than likely import junk.

I just ordered two front axle service kits and they both came with Koyo wheel bearings and Yukon trunnion bearings.

So do you know if the 25mm kits are or just the stock replacements?

KOYO trunnions can always be found at the dealer, but the 25mm was kinda a marlin exclusive.

I have a set of 17mm pins that are made for the Marlin arms. The would not fit in the six shooter arms without the arms being reamed out.

The 25mm setup is a direct fit for the original Marlin 6 stud billet arms. The trail garbage cast 6 stud arms use the stock size pin so they have to be machined to fit. The 25mm bearings are a special deal. I want to say they are a different bearing with a steeper ramp angle that Marlin has special made but it's been so long that detail could be wrong.

Here is the side by side of the MC bearings.
And this is from the MC forum regarding the 25mm pins.
"Sorry I've missed this one apparently. We have put 25mm pins into the 6 stud arms both TGs and 4X4 Labs. If you purchase the pin kit and send us the arms, we'll bore the arms for you at no charge. Just pay shipping both ways."
