I want/need a high pinion center section the question is spool, Detroit or Toy electric?
Any thoughts? Opinions?

He's talkin rearend... He's got a front e locked HP third 8)

Im a cheap ass so Id spool it.. dont know if your still DD'n it like you were so that might be an option now. Selectable locker in the rear of your rig just seems un-neccasary to me, but worst case go with the Detroit .

Didn't I see the Toy electric being used on Extreme 4x4 and Ian said they could be had pretty inexpensive online? I may be confused though.... ???

I never hear anything Ian says cause I'm too busy lusting after Jesse! ;)

I am with ya on that! I was having a hard time watching it while she was out with her back injury.

HP toyota 3rds do not live in the rear, but you know this.

I always rotated my pinion up to just below the tcase output and installed new perches. Get's the d-shaft up a bit more and you can run a CV rear.

Its pointed pretty much straight at the t-case now but this pig is so long I'm killing the rear drive shafts.
I'm thinking selectable just to help with the turns, P you drove it this weekend you did too Ricky so you know
what I mean. A stock power steering pump and a 1.75 bore assist ram doesn't help either.

nevermind, thought you had a totally different hairbrained idea when I first read your post :D

OK some people have sucess with HP Toy 3rd in the rear Bones you say they wont live
5.29s 36TSL SX Marlin Dual Ultimate case and a 22RE what is the opinion?
Marlin All Pro & Trail Gear don't agree.

I blew up 2 5.29 rear gear sets that were set up by a good shop and I had a similar setup. 22RE, duals w/4.0 in the rear, 37-40" tires. Housing was bent a little I think. I replaced it and never had an issue with 39.5's, 5.29's and a spool and I had GOOOOBS of axle wrap, ask any of the KS guys on here about that POS suspension. :flipoff1: That might have had something to do with it. I think Paul has one set as a troophy I made for him. I am sure he has since tossed it. ;D

I know I would not do it is all. You have an Xcab so your Dshaft is a lot longer than mine was.

Oh and use a solid spacer not a crush sleeve.

I hear you on the solid spacer, crush sleeves I've had no luck with.
New HP w/ 5.29s a Detroit set up with a solid spacer is about $1200
Big bucks I know but it made a huge difference in the front.
I have more $$$ in these Toyota axles than 60s would have set me back!
I need to be posting in the for sale section.

me too on the 44!

I knew even less when I built my CJ than I know now if you can believe that......and I didn't have anyone to ask .....and I didn't know about these websites. I thought I was hardcore with a 44 and lockrite! ;D

Yea what the **** was I thinking wanting to keep it all Toyota.
I ain't driving that beat bitch on the street anymore.
Somebody help me I can't stop digging!
P where you at, lets go to AZ. to look at that buggy!

Now you are talking James!

****, Dollar could sell everything in his garage and go buy Tiny. The guy lowered the price to 45k :flipoff1:
