Just built one on davesoffroad.com for 2200 with a few upgrads..throttlejunkie said:I say again, where? I have been looking for a while. I have seen Some folks advertising them pretty cheap, but when you add ur options iI've yet to see one for less than 2300.
If you know where I can buy a new complete Atlas for 1800 I really would love to have it.
Most I've found with shipping are in the 2500 range or more.
Be sure to set those tiny pinions up correctly! that's the only way that small of a pinion gear will last! Not hating just tellin you the facts!hjpcummins said:Ok so I'm a click away from ordering gears,
I'm stupid new to tons. Please explain the exclusions on gear sets,
Description on gear mention 4.10 carrier and up/down but the break s 4.56..please explain.
The plan is 5.38s in a 3.73 carrier and just gotta make sure they are compatible since Santa will be coming with a t case of some sort
Any 14 bolt that came with 4.56 gears (cucv) has a "low speed carrier" and "thin" gears stock.Beerj said:Do they make different 14 bolt carriers? I thought the only option was thick cut gears?
Yep thank you sir.pholmann said:There is a carrier for a 4.56 and numerically lower gear set and a different carrier for a 4.10 and numerically higher gear set. The difference is the offset on the ring gear. You can buy a thick cut gear for the 4.10 down carrier. Also a high pinion front requires a reverse cut gear and the low pinion gear requires a standard rotation gear. Answer your questions?
