I currently have Trail America 205-75 trailer tires on 15" wheels. They are Load Range C (4 ply) and I assume are radials. It's what came stock on my 14' trailer (7000lbs axles) when bought at Freeway Trailer Sales in Milton. Anyhooo......

Looking to replace these very worn out tires. Went to Les Schwab and got quoted $415 for 4 new tires installed. 6 ply radials....not sure of brand.

I only used this trailer for towing my 3500lbs buggy to and from Reiter Trails.

Really, no specific question on hand.......just want some replies/comments. Talk to me......I'm all ears.

DO NOT USE LES SCHWAB TRAILER TIRES!

Had their trailer tires on my trailer and they were out of round. Had them ballanced multiple times, and was unable to get resolution from Schwabbie. Damn trailer used to shake so hard that it rattled my F250. Finally bought another set from Costco.

I got Super Trails I think on my trailer, you know how we roll towing seem to be holding up to the 95mph long hauls.

The 6 ply's should stand up better than your current set.

If you going to tow farther than Reiter buy some mid to higher price trailer tires. You'll be better off in long haul. Stay away from the Carisle tires...they seem to have a real bad rep of blowing up while still new.

I dont tow a buggy but had camp trailers for years. One key thing you learn is that trailer tires often rot out and sidewalls crack long before they wear out. For that reason, I'd go the cheepest possible route.

Junk yards commonly have screaming deals on mounted used tires.

Were you heavy towing? I know lots of people don't approve of Schwab stuff, but I've never had an issue with them. Never bought trailer tires from them though.

What tires ended up working for you? Edit: Right....Costco. I'm an idiot.

I have the Super Trails ST Radials as well, and haven't had any problems with them. Mine are 16" E's

Very true. :awesomework: I go wheeling every weekend, so I wear the tread down way before they could rot out.

The trailer would shake even when empty (1700#) or when loaded (6500+-)

The Silverdale Costco didn't have the trailer tires in stock, so it took a week to get them.

mark, got the schwabbie tires on the boat last year. They only made it to lake rosevelt and back. The tread seperated on both tires. The boat is only 3000lb so not real impressed with schwabs trailer tires

I hear ya........ok, Schwabbie is out of the question then.

An idea that might work if you plan on coming up here any time soon... is to buy trailer tires while your up here. With the Dollar situation right now you have a bit of buying power.

I need tires NOW. Looking at doing it this week.

Good idea though......:awesomework:

I don't know why everybody's singling out schwab tires as crap....All those big companies out there selling trailer tires are buying those tires from the SAME manufacturer and having them branded for their company!!! I took the time to compare the tires awhile back....My trailer tires are from Schwab, and have been on there for the three years I've owned it, and are still about 65%...I went to Discount and they have the EXACT same tire; Costo----SAME, (just a different name on them)...Right down to the tread pattern/weight rating!!!!
The key to tire longevity is maintaining them and what they are on properly!!!
I'm not defending Schwab; buy your tires from whoever you feel most comfy with---just my .02 with research done to substantiate my response to this thread...:D

my old tires were making my tailor shake BAD. I went with the LesSchwab tires cause I'm lazy and I have an account. They were too spendy though. I remember cringing at the final amount. Tires have been working great though, no more shakes AND peice of mind that i shouldn't suffer a blow out any time soon
