TRIC Toy build

As most of you know, with this type of suspension there's no room fo rthe gas tank in the stock locale, and I didn't want it in teh bed as I wanted to save that space for camping gear and a :beer: cooler. Odie brought me a EFI tank as well as some other parts from my brother in Eatonville. I took the Toy pump out and put in a mid 90's GM pump for a truck with a vortek. Worked out great simple mod. I mounted the the tank sideways behind the axle after I dropped the rear to teh bumpstops so I could get the tank as close to the axle as possible; Here's a pic.

Now I could put the bed on and bolt it down, bob it 14 inches and work on the "xtra-cab". Was also abla to let it out of the garage for the first time on the new legs. some punk who's suppose to be helpin

You prolly noticed the back of the cab was cut out and wondered :wtf: well since I originally wanted an xtra cab and didn't get one, I am makin my own. I took the front wall of the bed and cut it out along the floor of the bed then unbolted the sides, welded the floor of the bed to the back of the cab, welded some angle iron to the cab and bolted it to the bed sides and then welded the front wall of the bed back in the bed 10" back from it's original spot. Bingo xtra bottom half of the cab;

Goin back to the bender since I finally decided what I wanted the front bumper to look like and I go the winch I wanted. Had a 8274 on the Willys whis was awesome just too big for the front of teh Syota.....

Next I built a switch panel for the electric fan, offroad lights in front, rock lights and interior lights, the rocker swith on the top is a remote for the winch control

Then I bought some white racecar plastic to rivot to the fender tubes to complet the fenders for tire coverage, not a big deal for the cops here in AZ but I wanted it.

I also had to fab a mount for the MAF sensor on the air inlet, normally these air horns point out the front of the engine but I turned it around so the engine could be mounted higher in the chassis. Here's the MAF sensor mount I cam up with;

Then I had to mount the trans dipstick tube, here it is;

Here's a pic of the almost completed engine compartment minus the battary isolator, A/C compressor and engine cage.

Now to cover up the holes in the passenger side floor because of the t/c shifters and teh hole I cut for access to the trans cooler lines I went and cut the floor out of the Willys since it had a 85 4runner floorboard.

The only thing left to get it to run is the exhaust system, I took the springs out of it and dropped it to the bumpstops and brought it to the muffler shop to get done. This was very frustratin gto watch cos I could've done better as I worked in a muffler shop in Tacoma for 10 years. Here's a couiple of pics of the lowrder on teh trailer gettin ready to go.

Built a hard topper over the bed out of angle iron and an old piece of Lexan I had, cam out like **** but it works, got gas charged shocks on it as well and it locks too, keeps the rear cargo area safe.

In the hi-lift pic you can see the storage box I built into the flor of the bed that houses ammo boxes full of tools and parts as a bottle jack and handle, machette, and some ratchet straps.

Thats all I got for now, it took less than 6 months to get driving, it passed emissions and is licensed and insured, drives, and stops nice and straight. turns 2500 RPM at 70 MPH and feels really stable at that speed considering it has no saybars and ramps 1000 backwards and 900 forward on a 23
