Trump for prez?

Re:

You'll pay for it in taxes, any product that comes out of Mexico and any product that competes with that because if they raise their prices American companies will raise their prices because Americans won't give a **** as long as they're not supporting then Mexicans.

He's talked of 35% tariffs on stuff from places like China. That will make Harbor Freight tools as expensive Craftsman, then Craftsman will cost as much as Snap-on and Snap-on will be even worst. I'd rather just see free market capitalism at work.

Not to mention that the 20% wouldnt just pay for the wall...it'd encourage companies to stay here in the US...not move to Mexico. Trump is a business man...plain and simple. It's also possible that he's using it to "bluff" with the hope that Mexico will come back and offer to do XYZ in order to keep the % lower.

Companies would stay here and then the tariff would make it harder for companies out of country to compete. Less competition would just lead American companies to raise prices and decrease quality which only hurts the consumer.

As a whole, if your society/economy (US) is based upon exploiting another depressed economy (any 3rd world country) to produce your consumer goods, then the veil of success we live under is fake anyway.

Maybe it works the other way, and companies in other countries make better products, better QC, etc i.e. Add value to their product to make the price increase more palatable to the consumer. (Dreaming, I know)

People buy **** every day in spite of it being low quailty garbage because "it's just so cheap, I can't NOT buy it". If the price gap closes a bit, more people will choose the better product, not just the dirt cheap product produced with slave labor in a **** hole country.

Must bite tongue... If I had the time to inform our closet liberal jdtacoma on how dumb some of the **** he says I would. Boo ****ing hoo if Mexico ups prices on their exports, do you even consider what we could do to them on our exports? Trump will have Mexico BY THE BALLS when this is all said and done.

Not sure why you quoted me?

It's not really "Mexico" that would be upping prices, it's the companies that have plants in Mexico. I'd venture to say that only a very small percentage of mexico's exports are actually made by "Mexican" companies. Most everything owned by Mexicans is actually owned (or completely controlled) by the corrupt Mexican government.

And yes, America has Mexico by the balls. Mexico was exploited to provide cheap labor and lax laws for mass production make consumer goods for the U.S. market, by U.S. and non-Mexican companies. The Mexicans didn't even seize (or have) the opportunity to build up around the massive factories, its mainly U.S. based companies that built industrial supply houses, equipment rental/service/sales, restaurants, etc. The Mexicans that actually do the line work in these factories are bussed in from the impoverished outskirts and rural areas and paid in "Mexican " wages.

I'd much rather be selling the machines we build to a plant in America than a plant in Mexico (no matter who owns the actual company). And I'd much rather buy the parts made on our machines Made In USA

Sorry did not even mean to quote you. Mistake on my part. Wasn't trying to quote anyone. Fixed the post.

When they (the damn mesicans) start losing jobs, on top of their dollar going down, they will do what ever they are told to do. Their president has absolutely terrible approval ratings anyways, the will stand on him to do whatever must be done to keep work there when it is all said and done. This is all just a bargaining game being playing out right now, and they do not have any command of the situation. TRUMP bitches!!!!!!!
