Tube lube??

One thing I have also seen less of with grease is less galling of the follower over time since we are talking a friction bend.

Just some more food for thought..

Thats my biggest concern Mike, Im using wd40 (free) but my following die is showing wear.

I used to use lithium grease but then found wd works just as well if not better and it's way cheaper and less messy.

Using axle grease! That's just crazy...what a mess.

1)I have tried WD-40, but it is more detergent than lube i.e. I started to see wear on shoe.

2)I used standard wheel bearing grease. This works well, I just don't like the grease all over.

3)I have started to use http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT2?PMPXNO=12635878&PMTERM= dry moly lube. This has actually worked well. I have had very little wear and you just need to reapply after you are done for the day. This is on a project bender and not production bending.

I use spray white lithium grease... works great.
