Flat tow a gear driven case in neutral? Bad bad joo joo. You gotta have the rear drive out of neutral or you'll fry the rear bearing. If you don't spin the intermediate shaft, no oil can be delivered UP to the rear output shaft.Wildman said:So they told me both shifters in neutral for the front & rear & the range stick in low low. So that is what I have been doing. Well they now feel this is the WRONG way to tow it.
The front shaft shouldn't be an issue thought, didn't you fry the front driving with the hubs locked in?
Whoever you talked to at STAK should be SLAPPED for not knowing how a gear driven case is lubed.
The next problem is, if you have your case in gear (in high range for gawd sake), your tranny obviously has to be in neutral and some trannies can't handle that either.
