updates on the Z

Looks like some great upgrades for sure Brian. You getting it ready to put some beatdown on the SETTC? :dblthumb:

Brian, Looks bangin man! You will really like the new brake setup. Those ford 1 ton calipers suck!

bling blang@ :afro: thanks for the heads up with them, I appreciate it! how is your rig comin along? havent seen ya online in a while either....

Its coming along, ill update my thread this weekend. Ya I know I need to get online, I have been doing p90x everynight and its been killing me. Lol

thanks! finally got it on the road today, wow....what a difference the right nitro pressure and spring rates make! LOL along with the new link placement.

get to work on Chris' rig!!! :****:

time for a little update....local guy had a pair of these for sale for a price I couldnt pass up. I have been wanting a set for a while, but the cost was hard to swallow, especially since I had suspension that worked fairly well for what I did.

I am putting these on the rear of the truggy and getting rid of the 1/4 ellip setup (all that stuff is forsale BTW). I would like to shorten the wheelbase a little bit, but I dont think that will happen without a bunch of tube work being done back there. I think I will just end up mounting them with the axle in the current spot, but will be redoing the lower links to help protect the rear driveshaft, that thing takes a beating! I am also hoping to redo the skid plate, which means messing with the front lowers as well (just the frame side)...a nice flat belly with some slick UHMW material would be nice.....time will tell, nothing too major going to happen since I dont want much down time.

another thing that needs to happen is rebuild my doubler setup. it rattles and clanks and leaks all over everything....not looking foward to that at all.

Brian

yes, that is deep! :wtflol: :dblthumb:

So I have been thinking about how and where I would be mounting them on the axle and the rear cage and havent really came up with a good idea yet...what is the preferred way to mount these things? Like a coilover? I thought about trying to mount the tops of them a little forward and tilted in toward the center (how ever much my spare would allow).

That's what I figured, it was worth asking. that adjusting screw on the bottom,is there a specific spot that needs to be in or just try it where it is at? What does that screw actually do?

rebound screw. cw is tightest rebound adjustment
ccw lets it drop out the fastest. When were they made and how much shaft will you run exposed at ride? If you're under 6" or so, and they were made more than 6 months ago or so, you'll want to pull oil out, softening them up and moving the second compression zone farther in.
