Walker Valley Jeep Cross excavation / reroute

Off I go, gotta get diesel to the machine---and help Ron get the track back on...it was parked for the night and all ok for the next day, but someone apparently needed it moved. :eeek:

Hmmmmm
I am sure there is a story behind this..............

Any pics.......:stirpot:

I played with the gate trying to get it open. Saw the slots in the back but did not see any pins to pull. The slide open top would not open either. Oh well, next time.

just having some fun[not in the trachoe either]

gee i think we had to move it because someone landed on the blade of the excavator:haha::haha::awesomework::haha:

also with people(who shall remain nameless) attempting to climb the hill withouth a winch... the excavator became a big danger incase of a tip or roll over
then a log got wedged in there and pulled the track off

you tell to much to fast

Trails pretty good right now got denied on the hard line cause my tires are terrible but the easy line with some skinny peddle is a cake walk and the rest of the trail up from there is pretty awesome right now could use a little more work but not a ton. Oh and i managed to crack my power steering pump and almost rip off a break line hmmmm fail!

Just got off the phone with Elyse. She wanted to make sure that everyone understands that the re-route is "Not" open yet. There still is some work that needs to be done to conform with forestry requirements and other minor issues.

My media card reader is being pissy again so as soon as I get it figured out I'll post up pictures from yesterday.

Thanks everyone who turned out these last 2 W.P.'s. And to those who donated $'s to the cause.

A HUGE Thanks to all that helped this weekend by either donating, or helpin' out....or both if the case may be!!!:redneck:
yeah, matt pretty much nailed it---the machine was in eminent danger of getting hurt, so in trying to move it, the track popped off...ended up walking it down to level ground this am, and about 1/2 hr later she was ready to rock!:redneck:

Please explain (not you necessarily, just anyone that knows the answer; reading this) so that folks that are interested may understand.

Was it blocked off after the work was done today to keep people pff the trail then?:eeek:

All I know is that when she asked for copies of the pictures I took yesterday she asked that when I post them up here that it is expressed that the re-route is not open yet. I'm just the messenger.

There needs to be some "dressing up" of the entrance at the bottom and there is still a wet spot that will need a culvert or a french drain installed. So like Sam said it's not a whole lot, just the final touches.

I have no idea if it was blocked off today Sam, I was not there.

The issues that need attention are the swale crossing about 150yds up from the bottom, and some 'hardening' work at a couple areas...by hardening, I mean 1 to 2, maybe some 3 man rock...Elyse will be handling what she can during the week using the DNR equipment, but the bigger material will require folks willing to abuse their rig or rig and trailer (binder!:redneck:) That said, even with an injured rig, once they got into a groove yesterday, it has been mentioned mopre than once his setup rocked!:D

Rick lost reverse??? What trans does it have Rick? I'm glad you got good rock moved...

It's a 727.........with two neutrals. 1-2-3-N-N-P. I wasn't doing anything that would be hard on it at the time I think it was just dumb luck it let go right as I was about to start moving rock.
Thanks to everyone who helped. This weekend was a good example of what we can do if we work together. I think I did my part but I couldn't have if Scott didn't come down Friday to run the machine, Jim let me stash my buggy at his house Friday afternoon and JeepMauler hauled the buggy back home for me today.....All of this not to mention the hard work of EVERYONE moving rocks and logs around and helping me get unstuck because I couldn't back up as well as the guys running the equipment too.
The gate was a bit of a puzzle to get open for me too but it wasn't locked.
