Ok so here is the plan. I will be heading up either later friday night or early saturday morning. I am going to tow up to where the tree trail starts and thats where I plan on setting up camp (I will have my camper).

So the plan is to spend both saturday and sunday closing the trail (unless we can get it all done saturday which there is a possability). I am hoping shawn from the state parks will be there to help or just watch us kick some azz. We will also be doing BBQ at the camp saturday night and Jason (toyotanut) will have his big BBQ there.

Here is what is needed. I am hoping for at least 20 people to assist in the efforst and of course, more can come since I am pretty sure the work isn't going to be easy.

Here is what we will be needing
1) the poles will be suplied by the state parks (A climbers association have donated the pipe material)

2) need 9-10 flate plates rougly with 4" area for the piupe to be welded to with like 4 5/8 holes (thickness needs to be around 3/8") GRNTACO is taking care of this

3)I have cable thats probably arounbd 200' long but would like at leats another 100' section(GRNTACO is also donating more cable)

4) Will need some of those clamp things for the camle so we can loop the ends around trees on both sides of the baricade.(3/8" cable HIP has taken care of this)

5) would like 2 welders there (TB-F ethan has on of them handled)
6) need 2 chissel tools to make the platforms on the rock surface.(KarlVP is donating tooling and hip will be bringing it up and War-Jeeper will also be donating tooling and brad will also be helping)

7)need 2 tools to drill into the rock (see above )

8)need hardware to retain the plates to the rock(Hip will be bringing 8 5/8" x 10" anchor bolts -Boxboy got the rest of the needed anchor bolts and epoxy)

9)I will be bringing my generator but would like at least 2 more

10) Need one or 2 cutting torch's to nip holes in the pipe for the cable to be ran thru (CrustyJeep will bring his bottles/setup)

11) If somebody can bring a couple tarps and some string in case the weather goes south(I will have a couple and HIP will also be bringing some)

I am sure there are a couple things I have missed

I will provide the drills, and the hammers. Also a compressor to run the hammers.

EDIT, Jackhammers with chisel attachments is what I meant by hammers.

I can get a hammer drill for the holes in the rock but will there be a generator to run it with seems how its not cordless?

Also what time would you be getting to reiter saturday morning? cause i dont remember how to get to the start of the tree trails its been a while hahaha

myself and Greg will be there.

ill have Karl's tools with me.

i have 8ea, 5/8" X 10" anchor bolts with nuts to donate. that outa cover two posts.

ill bring a couple of air grinders and could if i need to provide a torch setup but i dont really relish carring it all that far as my bottles are not real small. one or two of the little portable sets would be better. if we dont find anything else let me know.

mike what size cable and ill try to find some cable clamps?

I can help.

I can donate the plate. Crash, could you get me some specifics on what it is you would need?

I will also bring all the old 3/8 crane cable I have in the shop.

Im going to try and be there Sat if i get the rest of my parts to finish the the old hag.:redneck:

My bottles are pretty small. Oxy: 35", Ace: 29", to the valve tops.

I can bring them and the torch on Saturday. However, I don't have a rosebud and my little Ace tank might not be able to support a very big one......

Karl, don't forget that you and the tamers are scheduled for Elbe on the 21st.

I'll be there saturday mornin' and plan on staying through sunday. Hopefully we can get a little wheelin' in after the work is done too. :D

Yup, I was supposed to bring those tools, now Hip's bringing them.

Thanks for the reminder though Dale.

Well since my junk is back together I can drag it over Friday and spend the weekend over there. I have the onboard welder which also has 110V outlet. I also the Ready Welder. So let me know if my Jeep would be any help.

Awsome!!!!!:;

I could bring electric rock hammer and drill so we don't need a big air compressor back there. How far back in are we putting the cables? I could bring the BIG welder/generator that will also run my plasma cutter but a truck would have to haul it in.

ive got a huge tarp to make a lean too so we can have a dryer place and stuff to rig it up with.

ill look for some 3/8" cable clamps today.

my rig might be rear wheel only as i cant seem to get new bushings for the u joints but im p[retty sure i can make it to the work sight in two wheel drive.

Its near the end of the tree trail---roughly 2000' from the end of the trail so getting anything really heavy is certainly a task.....
