Funny how the boy is all "you can't tell me what to do" until he hears another woman (mistakenly) say that he's protecting his mother. Then he rolls with that. **** ain't right. Even sadder is that this is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm sure there's 1000's of other kids being brought up just like him.

exactly. Ever read The Lord of the Flies? kids when not parented will perform ruthless actions. We see it in society all the time. These are two women (un)raised the same way the boy is being (un)raised.
