Wedding Anniversary Trip

Anyone ever done a Viking River Cruise (Europe)? Looks like it'd be pretty cool. Multiple countries/ cities, guided tours, food and drink included, etc..
Just looking for something different than we're used to. :dunno:

Eddie, holler at me when you get a minute. Those Viking Cruises are the ****, I can give you a little info on them.

If you're going to do Telluride, you would be nuts not to fly into Albuqueque, NM and make the trip through Durango, Silverton, and Ouray. Look up "Million Dollar Highway"

I would live in Ouray if I could. Telluride is pretty rich but very nice.

We did this trip and hit Moab, UT/Arches national park as well. It is really beautiful but if you like to do the tourist thing and shop or have to be entertained then I would look elsewhere. It is not Gatlinburg in other words.

My favorite trip we have done has been Glacier National Park, and Banff. Banff does have the tourist stuff but it is too pricey for me. We were gone two weeks and also spent time in Jackson Hole and Yellowstone on this trip but the best part was Glacier by far.
Thanks for the additional info! :dblthumb: Definitely gonna look into this... we've discussed going out west/ midwest for several years and haven't done it... always wind up on a beach somewhere.

BTW, I hate Gatlinburg! :****:

X2 on glacier! We drove over 5k miles in 15 days a couple yrs ago. Hiked over 40 miles in Glacier. Going to the sun road is awesome but that place needs to be seen by foot, simply awesome. On the same trip we visited Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Jackson hole, some unmapped hot springs in middle of nowhere Idaho, Rocky Mountain National park and caught concerts in Oklahoma and Texas on the way home. We camped all but 3 nights the entire time.

Gonna do a trip like that with the buggy next yr through the southwest.

I can promise you this, Telluride is NOT anything like gatlinburg in case you were wondering. Quiet sleepy little town with lots of history to uncover. :dblthumb:

Agreed!

I'm pretty sure you can rent Jeeps and/or UTV's in Ouray and Telluride and drive Black Bear pass, Imogene pass, and Engineers Pass. I had a 2 year old with me so that was not an option for us. Ouray has the most awesome hot springs there is I think. No sulfur smell at all and the pool in the middle of town is huge.

One other note, if you don't drink a ton of water now you need to start. Sleeping over 8,000 feet gives my wife a headache every time and I swear it is because she doesn't drink enough water.
