but really, 5 tons are top loaders mmkay. F106's aren't
InDaShop said:what? I thought thats what you said you were building 5-tons. F106's you'll have to tell me exactly what I'm paying for. Or is it the whole Tug axles????? My **** is going to be unbreakable like Miles is all I know.
Why crunch that and strut all in one week before a huge commitment Wyatt has made with the traveling? Is it broke, or just a might as well sell it now while it's worth good coin??blacksheep10 said:rear end swap
I should have listened. :braves10and22 said:don't waste your monies. it sucks!

I'm taking about 3/16" off the ring gear and using 3/8" plate on the bottom with a hat broken into it on the iron worker to add strength and save weight. 1/4" cover and narrowed 6". the 14 should take everythign we could ever ever throw at it. stock knuckles and front shafts in the rear aren't a winner for long distance jumping. I don't want to come down and have a comeapart like shirley did with his rear axle. this bish will be tube welded and trussed.InDaShop said:The buggy is too light, I've got to add weight back to it
The rearsteer 60 is good, but as with a steer axle it has some weak links (stock knuckles & C"s). That and it has thousands in shafts and CTM's that I'd prefer not to destroy while racing, and it locked out.
So while we are doing the strut swap, the queersteer comes out and a narrowed and ubber shaved 14bolt goes under it.
We had that one REALLY hard landing in Bama where I'm actually surprised I didn't grenade the rearend or at least a link or mount. Prefer to just get in front of the weak link vs. realize it 1000 miles from home.
The mounts will all be the same, so if I want to swap it back in at anytime and replumb the rearend then its easily doable. Or I combine it with the extra HP60 I have and build something single seater'ish. (I have a hydro-bender now!!!!)
