Weekend thread

Kelly exaggerates, its a hybrid axle he's been working on, and yeah we beat Timmie too it.
My eyes nearly fell out of my head when I saw Timmie say he was going with 5 tons. Ha LOL. The 5-ton axle isn't a toop loader so Kelly is able to use 5 ton diffs and then the Tug outers that he got off that airport TUG. Yeah they are a bit heavier than my rear steer axle, and the front 60, but the abuse they can take far out wieghts (pun intended) the advantages of the durability, and the sharp turning abilities on the front are nearly unparalleled. I think we will have something like 57 degrees

Hey Kelly,, Matt bought a brand new harley yesterday... beat the mufflers off last night... CANT HIDE MONEY laughing1

guess I got someone to cruise around with at night now thumb.gif

IN TELLICO WITH BRAD FOR THE WEEKEND TO DO SOME ATV THRASHIN BEFORE HE GETS MARRIED. PLENTY OF ALKYHALL TO BE CONSUMED. NO WE DO NOT HAVE ANY KEYSTUNS!

but really, 5 tons are top loaders mmkay. F106's aren't thumb.gif

what? I thought thats what you said you were building 5-tons. F106's you'll have to tell me exactly what I'm paying for. Or is it the whole Tug axles????? My **** is going to be unbreakable like Miles is all I know. molaugh

You are doing what to your buggy? I am confused. Why???? Only thing you need is more seat time

rear end swap
Why crunch that and strut all in one week before a huge commitment Wyatt has made with the traveling? Is it broke, or just a might as well sell it now while it's worth good coin??

The buggy is too light, I've got to add weight back to it molaugh

The rearsteer 60 is good, but as with a steer axle it has some weak links (stock knuckles & C"s). That and it has thousands in shafts and CTM's that I'd prefer not to destroy while racing, and it locked out.

So while we are doing the strut swap, the queersteer comes out and a narrowed and ubber shaved 14bolt goes under it.
We had that one REALLY hard landing in Bama where I'm actually surprised I didn't grenade the rearend or at least a link or mount. Prefer to just get in front of the weak link vs. realize it 1000 miles from home.

The mounts will all be the same, so if I want to swap it back in at anytime and replumb the rearend then its easily doable. Or I combine it with the extra HP60 I have and build something single seater'ish. (I have a hydro-bender now!!!!)

I'm taking about 3/16" off the ring gear and using 3/8" plate on the bottom with a hat broken into it on the iron worker to add strength and save weight. 1/4" cover and narrowed 6". the 14 should take everythign we could ever ever throw at it. stock knuckles and front shafts in the rear aren't a winner for long distance jumping. I don't want to come down and have a comeapart like shirley did with his rear axle. this bish will be tube welded and trussed. :woody:

Definitely not running yet. This is a pretty indepth conversion. I'm doing as much of the work as I can, then the truck is going to TN to be wired. I plan to finish up everything in the next week or two and it should be in TN for a week or two.
