What can ya tell me about the early 7.3 powerstoke?

well the biggest thing is with those engine swaps.. People don't swap in a 24 valve.. And if they do, it sure as hell isn't a VP44 truck, it's a common rail.. There's no reason to mess with that huge wiring mess unless it's an absolute benifit like the common rail would be. But still, the majority are 12 valve swaps.. And the dowel pin is nothing. It is absolutely free to fix. And if you don't like the free fix, it cost 60-70 bucks for the gasket and 5 more for the tab.

And I've never heard of the engine mount thing on any of the sites I've been on.. so that's news to me. And I don't know one other person who would say the Powerstroke is more reliable then the cummins. 7.3 or 6.0..

What do I drive, thats right a CTD. I do believe its funny how alot of CTD loyalists and now starting to preach the IzuzuMax even tho they dont own one. I could of but didnt.:fawkdancesmiley: :haha: :fawkdancesmiley:

Much easier to modify the engine thats already in there for more power than it is to swap it out for another engine that still needs to be modified for more power AND has reliability issues.:;

Free power is what I like my 12 valve for so If free is too much for you?????. I have never had a cummins leave me sitting but I have had my 7.3 leave me multiple times. I am pretty sure your the only guy that would think its more reliable.:rolleyes:

Guys can we avoid making this a pissing contest about whose motor is more reliable? I'd love to debate and give all kinds of anecdotes about trucks I've driven, but let's stick to the topic of this thread: the 7.3.

If you want to debate about reliability, start a new thread....

it isn't a pissing match, we've already gone over what could happen. It's simple, buy the truck, drive it. Then you can put a real motor in it when you're ready. And he wants to do exactly that. The ford guys are just hurt that Skinney pedal wants the perfect truck :fawkdancesmiley:

Ahhh, dont you got some Boobys to play with. Move along young CTD elitist. Oh ya, answer your damn phone fool.:fawkdancesmiley:

haha, sorry, I forgot to plug it in.. and even then it doesn't last long anymore. Damn things taking a swim in the lake a couple of times don't do the phone good...
