What do you guys think of lexan skins?

Get a sheet of aluminum from the dirt track place and make 2 full sets for $100 in aluminum. It comes painted. Plastic skins look like ****. I used to run that speedway crap and it just looked ghetto.

Hmm, ok. It's hard to find anybody that thinks polycarb skins are the best option. I wasn't trying to be cheap, I thought it was the best way to go with the idea that they would bounce back into shape instead of holding a bend.

Can you paint aluminum?

paint the whole chassis black. the silver looks like poop. it's like a big highliter for your square frame rails..

Also, next time at least rattle can the skins, we can tell you used a roller for the blue and fingerpainted the rest of the rig.

Sure you can, but they come in different colors to begin with. Like Nolen said, find a local guy that builds dirt track cars and he that is your ticket.

The roof panel on my rig is alum and was painted, even with the roll and drag it held up pretty well ( paint ) laughing1

The Alum is wrinkled up a good bit though
