What module for my dodge?

Injectors.

I personally don't understand the need for an in cab adjustable box? So you can do what...dump in more fuel, make more smoke & make more heat?

After you get the box you find that you can't run it on higher settings because while towing all you do is cook the pyro. Then you start looking for a bigger housing or a bigger turbo or twins...

I just towed my shitbox 24hours staright to phoenix through Oregon,Idaho, Utah, etc...I set the cruise control for the speed limit plus a little extra and never saw above 1150 on the HX35 with the Smarty on level 5 and the little 60hp injectors.

Are you gonna race it?

As much as I have to agree with brad my only issue is with injectors I will have no control of the power output which equals no control over tranny failure-- the one and only reason for going with a module where I can get a little power out of it now and more once I go over that hump in the road which I call my stock trans....

So am I all wrong on my thinking?

You wait to do any power until you get your tranny built... And when you go to get your tranny built tell the builder what mods you have or are going to do, and what you use the truck for... then they build the tranny for its use... Oh, and i'd get a good set of inectors then a small box like an edge-ez plus a turbo and leave it! you'll be in the 325-375 range which is right in the range for excellent towing...

did you swap out the throtle pedel for an on off switch? if not then that fabulus link from the brain to the right foot ought to be enough...

thats what i kept telling my self till i smoked my clutch... :fawkdancesmiley:

I agree. Unless you want to spend money on a turbo or two this would be a great all around street/tow rig with a HX35/12 and an auto:beer:

mike....

if you're really gonna be such a baby about it.....and HAVE to have something before you get your tranny worked out...

just pick up a cheap-o edge EZ for.....what.....$200???.....run it for a while....and then pawn it off for that same $200 when your ready for something else...

geez....

like your new truck STOCK won't out tow your old rig by 10000 times anyway...
and we're gonna be going through cali at 57 fawking mph anyway....

If ya talk dirty to me I might lend ya the Smarty :fawkdancesmiley:

but then again I think you said they have issue with autos?

From what I have read they create problems with the shift points.

But I have to agree and will just get a cheap box...

When I 1st installed the Edge EZ it made a power difference, well worth what little you pay and it requires no tapping of the injection pump wires as well.

I put 170's in my truck with the stock turbo. I can peg the pyro with the comp. box off. It's actually pretty managable for keeping the temps down while towing though. You just have to pay attention to the pyro. I towed to Utah a couple of times and to eastern Oregon with a twin diesel 36 foot aluminum offshore boat no sweat. All I need now is a turbo. The pennies are being saved. If it were me.... I would by a tst box or a comp. box and just leave the pump wire untapped untill you get the trans. done. You can find used ones pretty easy.

What year is your truck?

With the 170 injectors how bad does it smoke? Whos' injectors?

The truck is a 98.5 24V. I put some used DDP's in I got from a guy that was using them with a small set of twins. As for smoke? They are pretty hard to keep from smoking. But with a little attention paid to starting out and not lugging the engine they aren't to bad.

And those are 170hp injectors?

Auto or stick?

what do you have for a trud blow?

What is a trud blow?

I have a full billet ATS trans. with trans. commander. Seems like DTT is the way to go up here though. (they are close by and do good work)

Bringing this one back from the dead......
