• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

What R&P for a stock ford 205

I have a 205 and run 4;56's... And then 350.. There is not much crawling Going on. I've been debating the same thing for sometime now.. And if finally bit the bullet.. I can't FAWKIN wait!!!

I was running 4.3 th400 203/205 doubler in my rig on 38s and single low was useless for anything but driving to the trails. High range was laughable at best but might have been usable as a street gear if it had ever seen a street.

I'm swapping to tons now on 40s with 5:13 gears and thinking I might be to low geared.

With the Toyota axles, 4 wheel disc, 4:10 gears it would pull through the brakes on flat ground. Let's hope the larger, 4 wheel disc on the tons stuff is enough that I don't need a higher stall torque converter.

I don't think u will be in happy with the 5:13's. Never ran any but I don't think it would be geared to low.. Hell i personally believe (again I know ****) but the set up I have would be my choice for all out bouncing and hell raising.. 4:56's with 205 .. Low , 1st gear and hammer it. That **** is gettin somehwhere, RARLEY climbing long hill with a good bit of skinny pedal do I need 2nd gear.. That first will scream all day (on hills) and never really max out needin 2nd. But then again I ain't never drove up some of these hills with it tho the floor like tha guys do.

Kush my rig isn't really a bouncer. But its not much of a crawler anymore either. And just to clarify when i stated it pulled through the brakes I was referring to when I had the t case and crawlbox both in low range.. 4:1
I bought these axles disassembled with the 5:13 gear sets so I didn't really choose my gearset.
