What to charge on a haul.

Above comments are WHY I PAY .75 cents per loaded mile instead of going after the unit myself. :dblthumb:

Out of hundreds of units, very few were loaded on 10 car haulers, most arrive on a 3 car wedge or less and I always ship INOP to reduce possible damage. thumb.gif

if you're getting inops shipped for 75 cent that's dam good. I know drivers making near 50 cents driving other folks trucks ,so if a O/O wants to haul for 75 cents have at it. As I said before I have been involved in transport for many years and have seen a lot of cheap hauling cause guys to fold up and look for work else where. Truck price,trailer price,fuel,insurance,tires,the risk of getting caught with out numbers ect ect ect this is for the OP to think on. thumb.gif

I'm working at a trailer dealership now and the manufacturing plant nor us will move a EMPTY trailer for less than a buck 50..
 
I'm not trying to burst the OP bubble, just sharing what I've ran into in the past. I have my own truck/trailer but would hire out a lot because a trucking company would already have a truck going to where I needed it picked up, therefor they would haul it to me cheaper than what I could go get it for. Hell to the OP, price it out to a broker see what they would charge to get it to you, then tack on a couple for yourself and give that guy that quote. You could make a couple not even starting your truck that way..And no wear $ tear, with the cost of repairs these days, that is a must to figure in!! Sometimes i'll go through 2-3 brokers bidding against each other, one might blow the other 2 out of the water because the already have loads lined up to get there, and just need to find a reload to get him out! just a thought..
