What tow truck?

So the f150 is 1/2 and i guess the f250 is 3/4 or 1 ton? Something like that.

Yes

F150= 1/2 ton
F250= 3/4 ton
F350= 1 ton

Chevy & Dodge
1500= 1/2 ton
2500= 3/4 ton
3500= 1 ton

looks like dodge 2500 and or f250 go for pretty cheap. Would they be a good fit?

I'm just trying to figure out why you have a buggy and don't know any of the differences between 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton trucks Did you just buy a buggy recently and are about to start wheeling for the first time or something? Not making fun, just don't see a lot of that. Usually if someone has a buggy, they are usually at least somewhat versed in the automotive world.

I am not new to axles and or wheeling just trucks. I was trying to ask if the 3/4 ton trucks have different frames and motors or is it just a different axle choice that makes the difference.

No worries, I was just overly curious of the circumstances. I've asked my share of dumber questions on here. :****:


And I am with you on keeping a truck bed. I couldn't do with just having an SUV. I would still keep my current truck if I ever bought an old 454 Burban, or sell it and buy a truck that gets better fuel mileage, like a Tacoma or regular cab z71

That is EXACTLY why I want one. I have a crew cab 2500HD with the 6.0 gasser in it, and have contemplated a camper shell, but I want access to heat, a/c, radio, and just the cab in general.

Sawzall and accordion boot.... done it in 3 spl truck builds so far.

It really doesn't look like more than an suv but it's an 88 Silverado. Cut directly at the b pillar. And accordion boot with enclosure

And it goes all the way to almost tailgate. But it sealed off amazing. Not necessarily practical for a daily. Basically transform truck to suv.

You can seal a camper shell to your cab if you have a sliding rear window. Installed a few that way for people that would be sleeping in the bed of their trucks.

$3500, 1 ton crew cab with 138,000 miles. it has a 454 and T400, will pull anything you need anywhere you need to go as long as there are enough gas stations along the way! The old man visor is gone and just FIY I'm not the one that did the shity paint job
