That's pretty awesome. That's the way I envision all Texas to be but I know it's not.

Outside the major cities I think that kind of thing is pretty standard. Austin is a liberal hippie enclave and the other big cities are just that - big cities, so they lean somewhat left just due to the economics of big cites. I'm quite happy somewhat out in the sticks with my guns, 4x4s and good redneck neighbors!!
