That's a MAGNA Charger. A.K.A = Maggie!! I like the Maggies, but all the weight sucks. My buddy has one on his LS2 Goat and is currently removing it due to that. I believe a PRO CHARGER is the only way to go with belt driven forced induction.

Pro Chargers are not as good for what we want because of the way they build boost. They pull harder when the engine is under more stress like a turbo does. This is cool for the street and drag strip but it sucks for in the woods. Cole used to talk about his engine either being on or off and that is the reason why. A roots style blower is much more drivable because they come in smooth and though they don't act exactly the same under a load as they do unloaded it is much more controlable. A pro charger will not build any boost if the car is in neutral but a roots style will. It is just the way the two blowers work.

Pro Chargers also need an external intercooler where on a roots style you don't. With a roots style blower you don't have as much problems with belts either because a pro charger is so high geared inside the housing.
The roots style also doesn't hang off to one side of the engine like a pro charger does but they do stick up a little higher. So this is just a trade off.

There is a limit as to how effective the internal intercooler is as boost goes up. At some point it will start to be inefficient and and external intercooler will be needed. Although with moderate boost (mid-low 20's) it will be fine.

I do see the benefits of running a Maggie/Whipple style blower for the woods. Space, less parts and built in intercooler are all benefits of this set-up. I am just partial to the ProCharger style blowers myself.

20's on a gasser with a stock crank and rods

I heard an old iron worker show up for a job and this kid that was "waiting on him" was standing there. the old (62 yr old) guy walks by him at a full stride and says "son, if you're waiting on me, you're late!" then proceeded to climb the beam with no restraints 3 stories up laughing1
that quote has always made me laugh, waiting on me you're late

I saw a video of a Ram Jet 502 with a F2 Pro Charger on it that Nelson Engines did. That damn thing made 785 HP and 815 TQ on their dyno. It was with out a doubt very impressive. They did all of this with a small intercooler and 10 lbs. of boost.

You put this on your buggy and your going to be breaking more than knuckles!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

That is the coolest avtar I have ever seen :eat: I just sold a chassis to a guy in Ky. and he is going to do a Stroked LS1 with a FI pro charger, I'll post pic's as soon as I get them.
