Lawyers and Human Resources will take care of the American worker. We don't need the Unions to muddle it up further.

Wyatt...you guys provided power during Chap. 11

I fly on bankrupt airlines every month.

Bankrupcy allows them (if they want) to ditch the UAW.

They won't do it, but it lets them do it.

Obama will give them the bailout in February.

They think they will not last another week or 2 from what they said yesterday. But it is funny how they are flying those jets around. Said that is all up to corporate. Well if GM goes down I believe Corporate will also... I can't possibly see why a man needs to make 16 million a year. It would be nice, but if I was the ceo of a company I think I could and would, stand a pay cut till **** got straightened out. Guess they are not willing to change their lifestyles like most of us has had to do at some point. ..

I will say this, If the Big 3 go under I am almost certain that I will lose my job come January or soon after. We supply a lot of tires to GM, Ford and chrysler.

Just heard on the news that the "automaker bailout" was gaining traction.

Had another thought......who thinks some very special "limited edition" vehicles are being prepared right now for anonymous delivery to some very influential congressmen? A Corvette for every yes vote......a Dodge Charger under every yes vote Christmas tree!....etc....

The $78 an hour is total built in cost to GM not what the employee is grossing. It includes all the benefits like health insurance, unemployment insurance and stuff like that. They still make a lot more per hour than the non union auto makers though.

When I lived in the Detroit area my two of customers were UAW Chrysler and UAW GM. I spent a lot of time in the assembly plants and got to see first hand how little they actually worked in an 8 hour shift. It was bad.
