How I did my blue truck, 3/8 plate, slotted the tube and used sleeved dom bushings to mount it. A guy in our club cut it out on his table and was selling them on ebay.

I like the bud built's my self, mine has a 1" drive train lift, had to cut the floor some. Its not completely flat, but he makes 1", 2", 3" drive train lift cross members. Well worth the money. Just my .02 cents.
