Haven't done a lot with the truck. I started on the rear tube work, and started cutting the front fenders for the dove nose. Also decided to go spring over

Been helping this idiot put his Toyota together

I picked up this old beater that's going to be my new dd for $250, built a bumper for it, and tossed a little bigger cam in it

Finally decided to work on the Luv again. Sunday I rolled it out to do a bit of cleaning/organizing.

Tonight I started mounting the fuel cell. The radiator is also going to end up back here somwhere.

I like what you've done so far---But, I hope you're gonna put the rear shackle mount on the frame in double shear! :redneck:

I like it...

The first car that I ever totalled was a 1975 Luv :redneck:

Couldn't handle the 1.8 liters of fury? :haha:

Radiator is mounted. I'm going to shove a artec quart crate between it and the fuel cell, then a couple of batteries are going to be mounted right behind the cab.

Thanks

Balls deep in a transmission mess right now. Had a 2wd th350 laying around that I'm using for the case, bought a busted up 4wd th350 from B-rad for the output/adapter, and bought a t-case at the swap meet.

Also ordered a 5 gear planetary set and a ring gear for a 700r4 to stuff in it, which will give me a lower first gear ratio. It'll be buttoned up with a hughes rebuild kit, tci valve body and a deep pan that I've had laying around for years

I wanted to do the same to my Th350. I have a 700r4 1st gear and everything. We to talk to Porter's tranny guy over on the west side and he said it can be done but not without a bunch of machine work. He said he could have the gear installed with about $350 in machine shop fees. I made the call that it was not worth it.

On the other hand I have read a lot of those kind of threads and articals but I have yet to find one that was really detailed and followed through all the way to the end. If you find anything out and can prove my info wrong please post up on here as I am very interested.

Side note, be sure to upgrade your sprag and add a case saver, other then that a good VB and your set.

That thing looks remarkable similar to what my datsun build is going to be.

I like it. (but mines going to have a bed)

keep up the sweetness!!

There is machine work required

First problem

700r4 ring gear is a bit bigger than the 350 gear

Next problem

The 700 planetary does not have a bushing like the 350 planetary

Anyways, it's starting to look like a luv again

There's even a t-case sitting in it.

I'm not going to be able to run the suspension seats, as the t-case takes up too much interior room
