You guys that buy your parts and build your own, do you have any tips on building them. Do you just cut them as square as possible and weld em up and hope it's as balanced as possible or do you have a way to balance em? Changed transmission and tcase and have all the parts for my shafts but need to lengthen the rear and shorten the front. I usually go to a local driveshaft guy and never really have a problem. But I considered buying some thicker wall tube and doing it myself.

I have had good luck tacking them and indicating them in by bolting them in the truck and spinning them.
Just make sure you ground to the tube so you don't arc your bearings

I build all my own. Machine them to press fit then true them and weld them in the lathe.

I've always built my own and have hoarded a mountain of 1410 and 1350 yokes and slips. That said, when I built a few vehicles, ORC could build me and ship me shafts cheaper than I could build them myself.

That's what I've been doing too. But damn Denny's charges an arm and a leg for shipping. Last time I ordered he called me up and said the site had an issue and he couldn't ship for that price.... It was maybe a $50 order and I had to pay $25 shipping.
