I have it set up, working great, but it's unsercured and I can't get it secure and get it all to work. I just want it so my roommate and myself can get online, nobody else

Running vista and the router is a D-link DIR-615

So far under properties I have
No Authentication (none) - works great until I go to encryption set it to WEP and set a security key and then it disconnects.

Go with a WPA setting and it will allow you to create your own password to use as the key. There should be an admin page to login to the router directly through your PC and change all the properties. May sound dumb, but try the properties

I only have experience with LInksys, but they have an IP address you enter in a web browser that takes you to the router settings where you can see the security and what not
