Yeah, getting an 8.1 installed. Hopefully I want regret selling my other motor, I already miss it alittle. If im not happy with the 8.1 I will probably add a whipple Super Charger to it. I think it will be enough by itself.
Still gotta buy the 2" shafts and a trailer.

Yeah, I also found out you can gain 18 HP at the rear wheels by changing the plugs. Sounds skeptical, but there is actually some proof. Found it on Dieselplace.

plugs or wires? I have heard from several several several reputable sources that on the truck motors you get 17 at the wheels with granatelli wires. Haven't done it and don't have a dyno anyway.

Its the Plugs, you have gap them at .045 or something, there is a thread about 8.1 Mods on Diesel Place.

It would seem like that motor would be a great base. All that displacement SUCKED down my the GM engineers for fule mileage.

IIRC there was a feature in a mag that had a new 8.1 right when they came out that was putting out 550+ with just a supercharger and exhaust (and a tune and filter, blah blah blah, but no other major ****.)

Talked to Woodlee today and they haven't really messed with it yet. He is busting ass trying to finish up Uncle Bobs buggy. I told him from the beginning that I am not in a hurry as long as its done right. Plus we might have some other ideas goin on.

Yeah Woodlee has it in the shop, been mocking up the motor.Plasma table tore up so he had to get it fixed. I had to order some headers because the stock manifolds wouldn't work. Hope to have it back in the next couple of weeks.
